Differences and Descriptions

Our marketing databases are intended for companies that need a detailed, de-duplicated database for customer contact purposes (email, online advertising or postal mailings), as well as need complex queries of their data. You can create the queries yourself or Datamann can program them for you.

Each of Datamann’s SQL databases are fully relational, containing all of your customer’s orders and transactions, along with full postal and email address information. Each database supports traditional offline and online transactions, email open/click-thru data, Google Analytics data and summary click-stream data from your website.

All three database options allow you to develop targeted emails or postal mailings based on past customer behavior or create targeted, merchandise-based profiles for online advertising. You can also answer complex merchandise queries such as what product is a customer likely to purchased next, based on their last purchase. Each database includes pre-defined RFM segmentation, which can be configured to match your company’s order values. With each database update, you receive standard database reports showing the number of buyers by recency and frequency of purchase. See attached chart for details.

Option #1 – Bronze SQL Database

Our introductory database is ideal for online-only ecommerce companies that want to learn more about their customer’s behavior and contact their customers with targeted messages.

Option #2 – Silver SQL Database

Aimed at mid-size ecommerce companies with both online and offline sales, our Silver Database provides up to five channels (identified by the client) for customer segmentation.

Option #3 – Gold SQL Database

This is our most advanced database, with an unlimited number of channels/titles (catalog, web, wholesale, retail, B2B, Amazon, etc.) along with unlimited product categories, and can be appended with demographic data (such as age and income).  Email open/click-thru data, Google Analytics data and summary click-stream data from your website can be added at the customer level. Channels can be identified via matchback or Google Analytics.

Data Queries: There are two options for accessing your customer data for either promotional activities (mailings, emails), or to create complex queries (such as, the lifetime value of customers by channel by item purchased).

  1. Let Us Do It: Datamann can create customized reports and customers selections at an hourly rate once the database is built;
  2. Do It Yourself: After each update, we can:
    • Send you a SQL copy of the database on which you can run reports and queries yourself;
    • Create a copy of the database in Microsoft Access which you can import into your own Access tables;
    • Provide direct access (on the Silver and Gold options) to the database on our servers (the cost on this last option is dependent on the final size of the database, number of users, etc.)

In all three options, Datamann provides the following when the database is built:

  • data conversion to a standard format;
  • data and address correction and hygiene;
  • duplicate record aggregation, consolidation and elimination;
  • data segmentation;

In addition, each database can be appended with the following:

  • consumer demographic data (age, income)
  • business data (company size, SIC, sales)
  • email addresses and phone numbers
  • email activity (opens and clicks)
  • summary click stream data from your website
  • Google Analytics data
